It’s Not Just About The Pain

Most new patients come into the office in pain. Pain is, afterall, a huge motivator. Who could blame someone dealing with frequent (if not constant) back pain for wanting to do something about it?

What about the person that has been dealing with severe headaches for months? How different would their life be if their regular episodes of pain-related “grumpiness” could be helped?

Then there’s the patients that sit in front of their computers all day dealing with neck pain. Wishing the pain would go away so they could get some of their work done that keeps piling up in regularly less-than-productive work day?

What if I told you that seeing a chiropractor’s not just about the pain?

In my experience, the pain goes away pretty easily. That is, within ten visits or less pain that has been going on for years has now gone away. So what now? Should you keep going to see a chiropractor? Should this Houston Chiropractor help you any more?

Staying out of pain may be the first goal. Once the pressure has been released off your nerves and you’re feeling better, that’s when we can actually make the results last longer by continuing with some treatment for some time following the pain going away.

What about after that? Not everyone agrees with this idea, but I’ve been under chiropractic care since injuring my low back at the age of 13. Before that, I had dealt with regular episodes of neck pain that left me out of school for a week during 4th and 5th grade on muscle relaxers.

Why do I keep getting adjusted? I know that when my spine is working it’s best, my nerves are working their best. When my nerves are working their best, my body has it’s best chance of continuing to function at its best.

It’s not just about the pain.
